The Cost of Living Crisis - Here to stay?

No-one seems to understand what is causing the cost of living crisis? Is it government over taxation, overburdened consumers with debt or trade unions losing their grip on most sectors of the workforce?

If you grew up in the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s you didn't hear that term.

I believe the culprit is quite simple, technology.

When us humans started using technology in the work places we thought great we can become more efficient, earn greater real wages and spend less time at work.

We didn't make the fundamental connection of more efficiency means less human labour hours required. Yes some of that could be soaked up with employment in the leisure industries as people could have more time off work and flexibility with working hours.

But technology kept progressing at an exponential rate to the point it did not need direct labour oversight or input, the two business inputs became unlinked and technology is now racing to the point where human capital is being replaced in ever increasing full time job disappearing chunks.

The servant is becoming the master deciding and minimising costly inefficient labour with its high thermodynamic friction due to our free will.

AI will prefer automatons a scenario in which I have coined a phrase, lockstep singularity.

So my answer is the cost of living crisis is because human labour cannot compete with technology and so this will not pass, it will continue to deteriorate until human labour says I just can't make ends meet anymore and I withdraw.
